Merlene Schain

Merlene Schain works in a variety of media, including three dimensional constructions, oil on canvas, and acrylic on paper. Her work often combines both abstract and representational elements, with careful attention paid to pattern and color.

Merlene Schain is a professor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her MFA from the University of Cincinnati. She has shown her work extensively in local galleries, as well as in New York and California and her pieces are included in the collections of the University of North Dakota and Merrill Dow.
